CaHA (calcium hydroxyapatite) is a naturally occurring mineral found in the body. As the CaHA particles are gradually absorbed, the newly formed collagen remains, helping maintain long-lasting results (12-18 months).

While injectable collagen stimulators are often confused with dermal fillers, they are not the same treatment. Dermal fillers are designed to replace lost volume and contour specific areas of the face. Collagen stimulators, on the other hand, activate the body's natural collagen production to gradually restore volume and improve the visible signs of aging.

Collagen production takes time, so results develop gradually. You may notice continuous improvement in your skin quality over the weeks and months following treatment except CaHa. CaHA-based collagen stimulators provide immediate volume enhancement along with progressive collagen stimulation. Other collagen stimulators primarily work through gradual collagen production. Visible improvements are often noticeable within a few weeks, with more significant results developing after 1–2 months. Depending on the type of collagen stimulator used and your lifestyle factors, results may last between 9-12 months for Juvelook & Gouri, and 1 - 2 years for CaHa and sculptra

Common side effects include mild swelling, bruising, tenderness, and a temporary tight sensation. Less common risks include nodules, granulomas, or vascular complications. These risks are significantly reduced when the treatment is performed by experienced practitioners.

Among the collagen stimulators listed above, Juvelook Classic is the only product that can be safely used in the under-eye area, which is particularly delicate and requires specialised treatment.

Mild swelling, redness, or bruising may occur after treatment. These effects are usually temporary and resolve within a few days. Most patients can return to their normal activities shortly after the procedure.

The number of sessions depends on the type of collagen stimulator used and the severity of the concern. • Juvelook Classic and Sculptra® typically require 3–4 treatment sessions. • CaHA and PCL collagen stimulators generally require only 1 session, although some patients with more advanced concerns may benefit from a second treatment.

Collagen stimulators may not be suitable for individuals with active skin infections, certain autoimmune conditions, severe allergies, bleeding disorders, pregnancy, or other medical concerns. Profhilo® improves skin hydration, elasticity, and overall skin quality. While it may indirectly stimulate collagen and elastin production, it works differently from dedicated collagen stimulators such as Sculptra®, CaHA, Juvelook Classic, and Gouri, which are specifically designed to stimulate collagen production as their primary mechanism of action.
