During PRP treatment, a small amount of blood is drawn from your arm into a sterile tube. Local anesthetic is applied to the treatment area to minimize the discomfort during the procedure. The tube containing your blood is then processed in a centrifuge and spun to separate the plasma and platelets from the other blood components. At Healthy Look Aesthetic, we use two-step processing to ensure the plasma that we inject is abundant in growth factors to deliver a desirable result. The platelet-rich plasma is then skilfully injected into the affected area to promote cellular regeneration. The injection targets the lower layer of the skin, hence, we also use dermapen to treat the upper layer to achieve a better result.

After the standard PRP treatment, you will experience a little downtime, depending on your skin concern & target. Generally speaking, the downtime for skin rejuvenation takes approximately 3 days, while the downtime for the acne scar is longer, around 5-7 days. It is due to the deeper depth of the dermapen for acne scar treatment. After the procedure, it is advisable to avoid intense sun exposure such as sunbathing, swimming in the noon, or going to the beach. We also recommend you apply lots of sunscreen and put physical protection if possible.

The production of collagen-induced by the PRP will start noticeable after your skin is fully healed. Full collagen regeneration takes up to three months. Reduction in hair loss is noticeable within 8 weeks. Although this treatment is very safe, mild bruising may also occur due to injection in a small percentage of the patients that will resolve within one week.
